How to choose an industrial 4G or 5G router in Mozambique
Compare cellular coverage, interfaces, power and environment before choosing an industrial router for Maputo, Matola or Beira.
Start with the network and location
5G is useful only where coverage is adequate and the application needs more speed or lower latency. For telemetry, POS, remote CCTV and backup links, a stable 4G router may be sufficient and more economical.
- Confirm the cellular bands used by the operator.
- Decide whether one or two SIM cards are required.
- Choose antennas and connectors for the installation site.
Interfaces and management
Ethernet port count is not the only criterion. Digital I/O, RS232/RS485, GNSS, VPN and remote management can remove the need for extra equipment and simplify maintenance.
- List every device that will connect to the router.
- Confirm the required VPN and management protocols.
- Compare operating temperature, mounting and IP rating.
